Port Eliot Afternoon

Taking place inside a tent at Port Eliot’s ‘Literary Festival’, the afternoon session mainly used as a chance for the children to discuss topics that were on their minds. This led on to a varity of very interesting debates. The first of which was about buying items just to look cool and how the media and marketing effect and exploited our lives. There was also a questioning of the national school curriculum, how it was making school unexciting, a need for it to change and how grammar and the correct use of language is being diminished in todays society. There was also a questioning of whether it mattered what school you went to in order to get a better education and how different schools give you a different outlook on education.
